What kinds of degradable plastics are there
1. Photodegradation plastics
It refers to the material that the polymer chain decomposes orderly under the influence of ultraviolet. Most polymers do not absorb the light energy of more than 285nm wavelength. However, if the photosensitive groups or chemical additives with photosensitive effect are added to the polymers, the process of photooxidation can be accelerated and degradation can occur quickly.
2. Biodegradable plastics
From the perspective of biodegradation process, it can be divided into two categories: complete biodegradation and biological collapse plastics; from the perspective of preparation method, it can be divided into four categories: biological fermentation synthesis, chemical synthesis, utilization of natural high polymer or mineral of animals and plants, etc.
3. Light, oxidation / biodegradable plastics
It is a combination of photodegradation, oxidative degradation and biodegradation to achieve complete degradation. It is one of the main research and development directions of degradable plastics in the world. The research of this kind of plastics has achieved good results in the United States, and it is still one of the more difficult research topics in China.
4. Degradation of plastics by thermoplastic starch resin
The so-called all starch plastic is that the starch molecules are changed and disordered to form a thermoplastic starch resin, and then a small amount of plasticizers and other additives are added. The starch content is more than 90%, and a small amount of other substances added are non-toxic and can be completely degraded, so the whole starch is a real fully degraded plastic.
